Railway Organization (SURO) |
| In performing of municipality
law and article No. 71 of the law of organizations, duties,
and the election of the State Islamic Council, and the election
of mayors, and also in implementing the authority of municipality
acquired from the responsibility of transportation of passengers
in the city and the suburb, Shiraz Municipality, after the
approval of Fars Province Government and Shiraz Islamic Council,
suggested to the Ministry of Interior, the construction and
establishment of the Organization of Shiraz and suburb Metro,
after which this plan passed through the legal process and
then approved by the Ministry of Interior on 27/12/1380, and
at the end, it was submitted for project commencement |

Goals and objectives
of the Organization: |
The objectives of the Organization consist
of:
Design, construction, operation, maintenance, quality and
quantity developments, and expansion of Shiraz and its suburb
Metro. |

About Managing Director |

The main duties
and authority of the Organization: |
Performing all kinds of operations in
accordance with the objectives of the Organization such
as:
Study, construction, purchasing the machineries and equipments,
purchase, rent and lease of lands and real estates, borrowing
loans and establishing credits, making any kind of contracts
and performing other legal civil and economic operations.
The Organization is established by Shiraz
Municipality funds for an unlimited period and the main
financial sources for this organization will be governmental
funds and Shiraz Municipality incomes. |

The pillars
of the organization: |
| The Organization will be managed by a Managing
Director and a board of directors who report to Organization
Council (presided by Fars Province Government) as the highest
authority body. |

Protocols and
funds of the Organization: |
During the construction of Line No. one,
the Organization funds will be determined annually and in
two sections: Civil and Current budgets.
Due to use of services from the fourth factor
(Project Management) till now, the current budget of the
Organization has fortunately been very little and less than
2 per cent where as more than 98% of the funds are going
to be spent and paid to the project management, consultant
engineers, contractors and procurements.
The funds are usually provided and allocated
in two forms of “financial” and “physical.” The financial
and physical program of construction of Shiraz and suburb
Metro is determined annually by preparing, exchanging, and
signing a protocol between the Iranian government represented
by the Organization of Planning and Management from one
side and the executive and operative body represented by
Shiraz Municipality.
A special characteristic of this protocol
is the shared commitments of the Iranian government &
Shiraz Municipality in providing the necessary funds for
construction of Shiraz Metro system. |
